Fourteen years ago, there was only one word to describe how I felt – crappy.
As a busy mom with three kids to raise it wasn’t uncommon for me to start my day with brain fog and end it exhausted.
I had chronic sinus infections that followed frequent allergy attacks, and I took lots of decongestants, antihistamines and antibiotics.
Pills were always my first source of relief, and I had a very nice ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) doctor who willingly prescribed medications when I asked. I thought that was the way to be proactive about my health!
The joints in my hands were always sore – I took Chondroitin/Glucosamine for that. Little did I know that I was suffering from RA (rheumatoid arthritis) and this treatment was useless.
Meanwhile, and because I was concerned about reducing my risk of breast cancer (it killed my grandmother), I was taking lots of synthetic antioxidants. I like to say I was a member of “the antioxidant of the month” club. But I still felt bad.
And when it came to food, I often made choices based on my fondness for butter, burgers, potato chips, fries, and shortbread cookies!
But, then my youngest child started getting sick. She was coming down with frequent sinus infections, just like I was, and that was when I realized something had to change.
I decided to find herbal alternatives to the antibiotics and pills. At first, it seemed that things were headed in the right direction with herbal alternatives, but we didn’t see major improvement.
Then, I was introduced to a company called Juice Plus+. Skeptical but curious, I started participating in the Wellness Forum, and that’s when I found Dr. Pam Popper.
Dr. Pam Popper became my nutrition coach/mentor, and through her classes I learned that the wrong food (and even the wrong water) can make you sick. I learned that fruit and vegetable concentrates could actually help turn my family’s health scenario around.
And more importantly, I learned that eating the right food and drinking the right water can actually heal you.
I don’t just know this. I live it!
Once I became a student of health and wellness, through what Dr. Popper calls “dietary excellence,” my health took a turn for the better.
Goodbye brain fog, joint pain, fatigue, allergies, and sinus infections!
Had I not changed my diet, I know I would be suffering from all my former aliments, crippling Rheumatoid Arthritis and other autoimmune issues today.
Of course, food is just part of the equation when it comes to holistic nutrition – healthy habits like exercise, spirituality, stress relief and alternative health modalities are just as important. This knowledge is a crucial part of what I teach through my Wellness Coaching.
Through these experiences, and years of study, I’ve become a qualified expert in how to use food to heal and reverse the effects of aging, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and weight gain.
My mission of wellness coaching is to help you understand the power of whole-food, a plant-based diet and pursuing a healthy lifestyle so that you don’t have to feel like I once did – crappy. 😉
You won’t have to give up foods you love to achieve this either. So long as you eat foods on my Gina-Approved list, you can eat whatever you want. Yes, even dessert.
I realize there is a lot of health and nutrition advice out there that is downright confusing.
Many times you’ve got Dr. Oz telling you one thing, and the paper telling you the complete opposite. It’s hard to know who to believe, what to do, and how to start.
Thankfully, through my Wellness Coaching Services, I can help you find relief!
